In October of 2008, after serving three years as a Naval Officer, I was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer. This blog chronicles my pilgrimage through life and towards the Roman Catholic priesthood.

Gloria in Excelsis Deo:
Processing to the Altar of Repose with the Blessed Sacrament:
I gazed upon the body of Christ Devoid of Life, no longer virbrant, A body that had been sacri- ficed To God for souls, proud and arrogant To whom He showed the depth of His love As He o'erlooked our cruel indifference By comitting His soul to heaven above As a sign of His beneficence. His hands, feet and side were pierced, His back was torn from the lashes, fierce, While on His beard was spittle, the vicious scorn Of the rabble demanding His blood, That spouted forth as a merciful flood.

wish we could have been there...have a very blessed Easter!
Incredible Good Friday service.
I wish I could have been there.
Say Hello to Father Parkerson for me, please.
I think of him often and hope to see him soon.
Makes me wonder if you're wearing a cappello romano outside of Mass when it's sunny...

Thoughts on Holy Saturday Morning
I gazed upon the body of Christ
Devoid of Life, no longer virbrant,
A body that had been sacri-
ficed
To God for souls, proud and arrogant
To whom He showed the depth of His love
As He o'erlooked our cruel indifference
By comitting His soul to heaven above
As a sign of His beneficence.
His hands, feet and side were pierced,
His back was torn from the lashes, fierce,
While on His beard was spittle, the vicious scorn
Of the rabble demanding His blood,
That spouted forth as a merciful flood.
Nice canopy ;-)
