In addition to his ability to find the best pizza and pint of beer in Lourdes, Fr. Byers (our favorite Lourdes chaplain) always "tells it like it is." His recent comments about the Notre Dame scandal:
"Notre Dame University doesn’t understand that there can’t be a legitimate debate on abortion when the main speakers are silenced. Obama is not interested in debate with his little opponents. He’s interested in shoving his views into their faces with with a scalpel, mashing that scalpel around in their faces, then down their throats and into their beating hearts, where he gives it a final twist. Little babies have no voice, not even to cry, with Obama.
He’s just in error, you say? He’s nice, you say?
Error has no rights. Error does not justify.
The natural law is written on everyone’s heart, including Obama’s.
He knows it’s wrong.
Obama visits France. Will he ever visit Lourdes as well, just to show how "Catholic-minded" he is? He should know that the Immaculate Conception carried our Lord in her womb for nine months and gave birth to Him, alive. But Obama and Hillary think the same. Hillary went to Guadalupe, and then to Planned Parenthood to receive an award.
But I invite Obama to come here and have a debate in the grotto. He will lose. Why? Because I’ll say the whole truth about the Natural Law. That won’t happen at Notre Dame, will it? Surely not in a way that Obama will understand. He will voice his “respect” for those who disagree with him, ever so magnanimously… And everyone will forget about the more than a million babies slaughtered every year with his full backing."

It is 200,000 a year in France alone, according to Brother Eugene at the Lourdes Rosary during the past week. It was the Joyful Mysteries and I think he gave the stat. before the third one. Boy, didn't that pack a punch. Even throught the computer screen, I could feel that he had stunned the little group gathered before the Grotto. He certainly stunned me. He didn't need to put into words, the dark, stark question - what would have been our fate if Mary Immaculate had not agreed to carry Jesus in her womb and to give Him birth at the term of her pregnancy?
Brother also mentioned Herod......
At every opportunity since, I have been telling everyone I meet, 'Do you know there are 200,00 aborions a year in France?' The Catholics bemoan it; the irreligious look sheepish. But you're right , the natural law is written on all our hearts Deep down, all know that law is ignored at our peril.

Pres. Obama "respects" the pro-life position on abortion? Please. He ignores the truth, which is that abortion isn't up for debate. It's murder of defenseless innocents -- an intrinsic evil.
A group of us in Mississippi and Louisana have been praying for the miraculous conversion of Barak Obama to the Holy Roman Catholic Church at a time and in a manner in consonance with the divine will. We have sought the powerful intercession of Our Lady of America, St. Paul, the servants of God Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen and John Henry Cardinal Newman. We ask these intercessors to remind Jesus of how he converted Saul of Tarsus on the Road to Damascus and pray that He similarly will convert the Obama family at their residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC.
