A Sunday in Lourdes

A beautiful Sunday morning in the Pyrenee mountains:

The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception prepared for the 9:15 am Traditional Latin Mass.  This is the Basilica that was built over the grotto, at the request of the Blessed Mother:

After serving Mass, I had a cup of coffee with "The Thomist of Lourdes" - a former Theology professor who now lives in Lourdes.

A visit to the statue of Our Lady, Help of the Sick:

The procession of the sick follows, with a special blessing for all pilgrims who are seeking healing:

The procession is quite humbling:

Seminarian Antonio returned to Colombia today - please pray for his safe travel!

St. Raphael, I beg you, assist Antonio and Philip in all needs and in all sufferings of this life, as once you helped the young Tobias on his travels. Because you are the "medicine of God" I humbly pray you to heal the many infirmities of souls and the ills that afflict bodies. I especially ask of you the great grace of purity to prepare us to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Philip:

You will not know until the particular judgment how mmany souls you have touched with your blog. When I viewed it today, I asked the Lord to heal you on behalf of the many souls whom you will touch during your sacradotal ministry after your ordination to the priesthood.

My dear friend,
You are such an inspiration!!! I know that Our Lady of Lourdes is
blessing you in such a special way.
At the vigil Mass last night, I put
you on the Patton and in the Chalice.

Love, your friend,
Missy (Eloise Halping Bunner)

Saint Rita, intercede for our brother Philip; that he may be healed of his affliction. you did not hinder the will of God in your life, and inspired others to do the same. help our brother who seeks to serve Christ with all his heart. may by your intercession our prayer be heard and answered, we ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
