Rather than pursue the medical trial at Duke, I have decided to pursue a different trial at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) near Washington, D.C. Conveniently, there is a Blessed Sacrament chapel in the hospital:

Unfortunately, my most recent MRI showed that the brain cancer continues to grow. As there are no "standard treatments" left for this type of cancer, a medical trial is the only option in trying to slow the cancer's growth.
This trial consists of "Carboplatin" chemotherapy once a month, given intravenously. If the tumor continues to grow, I will be offered an additional trial drug which attempts to stop blood flow to the tumor.
Please keep me in your prayers as I recover from my first treatment on June 16, and be assured of my prayers for all who continue to pray for me.

Continuing to pray for you every afternooon at Holy Hour, Philip.
Thank you for your prayers too.
May God bless and keep you with us.
You shall remain in my prayers!! I wish you all the best!!!
Philip, I've been praying for you everyday.
I wish I had the courage to offer my life for yours, but I am a coward and I'm afraid of pain and suffering.
God bless you and keep you close to the Immaculate Heart of His Mother and yours.
Thank you for sharing the news with us as an encouragement to prayer and spiritual solidarity. God bless you.
God bless you, Philip. Still praying! I know the Lord and His precious Mother will help you through this. (Will you pray for a young couple trying to conceive a child that God's will be done?)
Dear Philip
Please be assured of your intentions being prayed for in our rosary tonight.
God bless.

Dear Philip,
I came across your story a month ago on a forum I read. I have been praying for you daily in my rosaries and at daily Mass. I had surgery for a brain tumor a year ago. I was fortunate that it was not cancerous but there were other fears and worries. There were also many blessings along the way. I never felt closer to Jesus than I did during that time. I will continue to pray for you.
Words that I often turned to for comfort during that time:
"Hear and let it penetrate into your heart, my dear little son; let nothing discourage you, nothing depress you. Let nothing alter your heart or your countenance. Also, do not fear any illness or vexation, anxiety or pain. Am I not here who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Am I not your fountain of life? Are you not in the crossing of my arms? Is there anything else that you need?" (Words of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Juan Diego)
Praying for you, Philip.
It is my daily prayer for you dear brother, that Christ may place the cross of your sufferings onto my own back so that you may continue in the good work for which He has set you apart.
God be with you
God bless you Philip. And Mother Mary take care of you.
I will continue to pray for a miraculous healing for you. You are one of the bravest young men I have ever met.
All to Jesus through Mary
God bless you
With Joy

Introibo ad altare dei...
The next time I say these words, they are for you, Philip.
Don't forget to offer something of your trials for the Holy Souls, that, in being liberated now, they may soon welcome you into the eternal habitations.
Of course, we are -- all of us -- still praying for a miracle!
Nos cum prole pia benedicat Virgo Maria.
Please go to Da Mihi Animas and read Sr. Briege's experience with Eucharistic healing.Fr. Hardon always said," Jesus Eucharistic is the same Jesus that walked the streets of Nazareth and He still wants to perform miracles, He still wants to heal!".
God Bless
Praying for you daily Philip. God bless you and keep you. Your courage and faith continue to inspire and bless others around you. Your life is such a blessing to so many. Hail Mary. . ..

Our grand-daughter left for France today and just before she left I asked her to remember you, Philip, when she goes to Lourdes. She has been praying for you right along and promised me she would pray at the Shrine for you.
Know that you continue to ask the Lord for all the graces you need to endure this very severe trial.
Sincerely, Elizabeth Forshaw

Hi Philip, I came across your blog on Facebook. Our rosary group has been praying for you, especially as you go through this next phase of challenges. As a 2 time cancer survivor, I know how scary it can be. I pray that the Lord gives you the peace that surpasseth understanding.
Pray, hope, and don't worry.
Blessings,
Isabelle
I will keep you in daily prayer Philip. And at Holy hour on Thursdays. May our Blessed Mother wrap you in her mantle and keep you close to her Immaculate heart!
