As we approach the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Bishop Burbidge has requested that the entire Diocese of Raleigh participate in a novena for my healing through the intercession of Our Lady. I would appreciate anyone's participation in this novena as we turn to the Immaculate Conception in preparation for her Feast Day. The novena and letter to the faithful is posted below, and can also be found on our diocesan website: http://www.dioceseofraleigh.org/news/view.aspx?id=962
The novena will begin on November 29th, ending on Our Lady's Feast Day on December 8th. I am deeply grateful to Bishop Burbidge for his continued support as I pursue my vocation, and I thank all those who will be joining me in prayer.

I will certainly continue to pray for you and I will participate in this novena for you. Have you seen this link to information on Father Emil Kapaun? http://www.frkapaun.org/
He is a powerful intercessor. May Almighty God bless you and Our Lady protect you.
I have re-posted the bishop's letter in my blog for my readers to pray for your healing Bro. Philip.
I entrust you to the loving and caring hands of our Mother.
If He trusted His Son to Her care, who are we then to fret?
God bless you and praying for your healing and eventual ordination to the priesthood.
What a wonderful Bishop who would do this! God bless and heal you, Philip.
Please make a slight correction to your blog. Your initial post says that the novena starts in December rather than November.
God bless you, our prayers are with you.
God Bless your Bishop for arranging this (and thank you for posting this or I otherwise might not have know of it as I live in San Diego)
I will pray the novena as well.
May Our Blessed Mother continue to favor you with her graces.
I am again joining in with the Novena, and passing on your intention to others here in the UK. May all these prayers be heard so that your vocation to the priesthood can bring abundant fruit.
God bless you.

I will pray the novena for you. How beautiful to have such support from your Bishop and diocese.
You may want to edit your blog post as you have the starting date as December 29, when it should be November 29.
Your friends at Wilmington Catholic Radio are already praying daily for you, and we will gladly join Bishop Burbidge in the novena which will be prayed on the air during the nine days.
You have many friends in Wilmington praying for you.
May God bless you and protect you.
Man, who's got the best bishop!? May the prayers of Bernadette also attend you, and those of the Tarheel Apostle.
Philip,
Today the Superior General of Maryknoll asked all Society members to join the novena. God Bless.

Philip,
This request for a Novena has been passed along to the Cursillo community in Diocese of Charlotte. Please know there are many Cursillistas who will be offering prayers for you for a healing.

Philip - I'm going to pray for your healing, asking for the intercession of a dear friend of mine, Linda Tamburino, who just died, on the feast of Christ the King, of lung/bone cancer at the age of 56. She offered up her suffering for priests/seminarians, and was a great pray-er for priests. Your blog hits home twice for me, since my father was a naval aviator (early 1960's) and I am an old 'Navy brat'. God bless you!
I am praying for you, and will begin the novena on Monday. I am also asking for your healing through the intercession of a dear friend of mine, Linda Tamburino, who just died of cancer at the age of 56, on the Feast of Christ the King (last Sunday). She was a great pray-er for priests, and she offered up her suffering for priests and seminarians. God bless and strengthen you.
Dear Philip
We will be praying for you during this novena to the Immaculate Conception. In caritate non ficta,
Fr. Michael Mary, F.SS.R.
Our family is praying with you, Phillip! So is my wonderful elderly, infirm aunt in Brazil!
Hey Philip,
It is an honor to pray this for you...and to continue to beg my little ones, entrusted to Her arms, to do the same.
In gratitude for your Bishop's fidelity and your own presentation of Hope...
Continued prayers for you Philip from an English grandmother.
The novena and, at the same time, a novena of Masses, plus a novena of Masses of Thanksgiving afterward.
Nos cum prole pia...
...benedicat Virgo Maria Immaculata.
AUX ARMES ! ! !
I am again glad to add my prayers for your recovery. Best wishes and God bless.
Philip, have joined the many here on earth and in heaven who are praying for your healing, courage, and strength. We love ya, young man!
PS - Inviting all to join in a prayer seeking intercession from Fr. Emil Kapaun:
Lord Jesus, in the midst of the folly of war, your servant, Chaplain Emil Kapaun spent himself in total service to you on the battlefields and in the prison camps of Korea, until his death at the hands of his captors.
We now ask you, Lord Jesus, if it be your will, to make known to all the world the holiness of Chaplain Kapaun and the glory of his complete sacrifice for you by signs of miracles and peace.
In your name, Lord, we ask, for you are the source of peace, the strength of our service to others, and our final hope.
Amen
Completed the Novena, and each day I also asked for the intercession of my Father-in-law, Daniel Loth, who died from inoperable brain cancer, while living well beyond the original 6 weeks given. I believe it was an additional 2-3 years.
He was a devoted Catholic and father of 7 as well as former military, so I hope and pray he, too, will intercede for you.
God bless you on your journey.
