Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas to all! Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dunn, NC (Diocese of Raleigh, NC) celebrated Our Lord's birth with a Missa Cantata in the Extraordinary Form.

Father Parkerson celebrated the Third Mass of Christmas Day, and the Introit (Opening Antiphon) was "A Child is born to us, and a Son is given to us: Whose government is upon His shoulder and His Name shall be called, the Angel of Great Counsel. (Ps. 97: 1) Sing ye to the Lord a new canticle: for He hath done wonderful things."

Help Restore St. Mark's Church in Cincinnati!

Una Voce Cincinnati reports that Archbishop Schnurr has given his approval to restore St. Mark's parish to be dedicated to the traditional Mass and Sacraments.  Visit http://www.restorestmarks.org/ to participate in the restoration of this beautiful church:

The Archbishop comments in his letter: "When Cincinnati's community of Catholics worshipping according to the more ancient form of the Church's Latin Rite approached me, seeking a church for a new parish, I was pleased when they proposed a plan to save and restore St. Mark's Church....  I am very pleased to learn that St. Mark's may now be saved for Catholic worship, and find renewed life as the home of a new parish dedicated to the ancient liturgy."

It was very nice to meet Archbishop Schnurr during my visit to Cincinnati a few months ago, and he kindly hosted us at his seminary during our stay:

Pray for him, and for the success of the restoration of St. Mark's!
